This Privacy Policy describes how Saaro Connect (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, processes, stores and protects data when you use our website and platform. We handle your data and your customers’ data in line with applicable law — including the GDPR (EU/UK), POPIA (South Africa), LGPD (Brazil), the DPDP Act (India) and PDPL (UAE/MENA) — as well as the policies of the channels we connect to, including Meta and Google.
By accessing or using Saaro Connect, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the platform.
Scope of this policy
This policy applies to website visitors, registered users and their team members, customers and vendors, API users, and anyone connecting Saaro Connect to a third-party system.
- The Saaro Connect platform and mobile experience
- Our website, saaroconnect.com, and its subdomains
- Our public APIs, webhooks and integrations
- Customer communication handled through connected channels
Data we collect
We collect information you provide directly — such as your name, work email, phone number and company details when you sign up, request a demo or contact us — together with limited technical and usage data collected automatically.
When you use the platform, we process the conversations, contacts and content you choose to manage through it, on your behalf and under your instructions.
- Account data — name, email address, phone number, business details, team roles
- Technical data — IP address, device type, browser, and usage and access logs
- Communication data — messages sent and received through connected channels, campaign and broadcast data, call recordings and transcripts where you enable them, and conversation history (processed by us, owned by you)
- Billing data — transaction and invoice records. We never store full card details; payments are handled by PCI-compliant gateways
How we use data
We use data to operate, secure and improve the service. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use the content of your conversations for advertising.
- Creating and authenticating accounts, and managing team access
- Connecting channels and delivering messages, broadcasts and voice calls
- Running the automations, campaigns and analytics you configure
- Providing customer support and service communications
- Monitoring performance, reliability and platform improvement
- Billing, legal compliance, fraud prevention and abuse detection
Data ownership and our role
You retain ownership of your data and your customers’ data. For the conversation data you process through the platform we act as a data processor and you remain the controller — we process it only to deliver the service and on your documented instructions.
You are responsible for the data you upload or process, for having a lawful basis to do so, and for the accuracy of your records. You can export your data at any time.
WhatsApp and Meta compliance
Messaging through connected channels is governed by those channels’ rules, and you are responsible for following them — including opt-in requirements, template approval rules, the 24-hour customer service window and applicable anti-spam law.
Violations may lead to message blocking, number or account restrictions, suspension of your Saaro Connect account, or enforcement action by Meta. Saaro Connect is not responsible for bans or restrictions imposed by a channel provider on your account or numbers.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is role-based and least-privilege, and key actions are recorded in an append-only audit log. We monitor our infrastructure continuously and review access regularly.
No system can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials, enabling multi-factor authentication where available, and managing who on your team has access.
Storage and retention
Data is stored on secure servers in the regions we operate. We retain personal data only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal, tax and security obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Logs may be kept longer for monitoring, security and abuse investigation.
To keep the platform performant we may remove redundant data, prune stored media, and archive or close accounts that have been inactive for an extended period. Where a retention limit applies to conversation history or media on your plan, it is stated in your plan terms and in the platform. We recommend keeping your own backups of anything business-critical.
International transfers
We operate across several regions, so data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision — to protect it to the standard your local law requires.
Your rights
Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object or withdraw consent. Where we process data on behalf of a customer, we will refer requests from their end users to them.
To exercise these rights, email privacy@saaroconnect.com. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Your responsibilities
By using Saaro Connect you agree to use the platform lawfully, to avoid spam and abusive messaging, to obtain and maintain valid opt-in consent from the people you contact, and to protect your login credentials.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Saaro Connect is not liable for message delivery failures, restrictions or bans imposed by a channel provider, data loss caused by external systems you connect, or indirect business losses. Our aggregate liability is governed by the limits in our Terms of Service, and nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access where an account violates these terms, the policies of a connected channel, or applicable law, or where we detect fraud or abuse of the service. Where it is safe and lawful to do so, we will notify you first and make your data available for export for a limited period.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always posted on this page with its effective date, and we will give reasonable notice of material changes. Continued use of the platform after an update means you accept the revised policy.
